Dual Credit
Earning High School and Post-Secondary Credits
What are they?
Dual credits engage students through exposure to college courses and culture while supporting their successful transition to post-secondary education. Dual Credits are designed for students who may need learning opportunities outside of high school and who would benefit from a college or apprenticeship experience to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Students have the opportunity to:
• Earn high school credits while studying at a local college or taking apprenticeship training
• Gain experience to transition to post-secondary education or apprenticeship
• Get a head start on learning and training for their future careers.
Where do I go for a Dual Credit Course?
Dual credit courses most often correspond to your post-secondary interests, SHSM program or your co-op placement. If you are not enrolled in a SHSM you may take any dual credit course that interests you. The St. Clair College dual credit courses are offered on Thursday afternoons. Lambton College offers course Thursday and Friday morning and afternoons. See your Guidance counselor, your co-op teacher or the links below for more details.
All dual credit courses are offered to students free of charge with transportation, materials, books and some safety equipment provided.
NOTE: Dual Credits are in-person classes
